Lemon and Honey

Using Merleau-Ponty's examples of lemon and honey, taken from Exploring the World of Perception: Sensory Objects, as a model, describe the qualities of an object/space that has left a lasting impression on you. I would like you to first consider the object/space as it relates to the autonomous you, what are your perceptions/experiences, but then also to consider how others might engage this object/space. Be creative but stay focused on the phenomenological methods Merleau-Ponty sets fourth.

Some of you may find yourself in accord with these methods but others may find that they do not correspond with your individual perspective. Whether you write in support of, or in critique of, the methodologies of Phenomenology is up to you but what is paramount is that you accurately reference in your essay the foundations of Phenomenology and the two Merleau-Ponty essays in particular.

Please note that Exploring the World of Perception: Space is included in your reader under supplemental readings "i". You will also need to do some secondary research using the library and internet.
